SUMMARY
Thallus absent, lichenicolous.
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata apothecia, developing in the host hymenium and blackening the disc, 100-400 µm diam., black, rounded, flat to slightly convex, the margin indistinct. Epithecium dark brown, K+ olive. Hymenium 40-50 μm tall, colourless, I+ blue. Hypothecium hyaline or very pale brown. Interascal tissue of pseudoparaphyses, 1.5-2 μm diam., apices with dark pigmented caps, 2-4 μm diam. Asci broadly clavate to almost subglobose, fissitunicate, with a large apical dome and distinct ocular chamber; apical dome not staining blue in iodine, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged irregularly, 9-15 × 3-5 μm, narrowly ovoid to clavate, 1-septate, the septum slightly submedian, hyaline, smooth, without an epispore, gelatinous sheath or appendages.
