Caprimulgus europaeus (Nightjar, European Nightjar) is a species of birds in the family Caprimulgidae. They are native to the Palearctic and Ethiopia. They are solitary, nocturnal carnivores. They have parental care (cooperative breeding, female provides care, occasionally breeds cooperatively, and paternal care). They rely on flight to move around.
