Українська: Один із широко поширених у Європі дроздів. В Україні гніздовий, перелітний, зимуючий птах.
Птах середнього розміру. Маса тіла 80—140 г, довжина тіла близько 25 см. Статевий диморфізм не виражений. У дорослого птаха голова зверху, щоки, шия ззаду і з боків, поперек і надхвістя сірі, на голові чорні риски; над оком білувата «брова»; спина, плечі і верхні покривні пера другорядних махових каштанові; горло, воло і груди зверху рудуваті, з темно-бурою строкатістю; боки тулуба і підхвістя білуваті, з темно-бурими стрілоподібними плямами; низ грудей і черево білі; покривні пера споду крил білі; махові пера темно-бурі; хвіст чорно-бурий; дзьоб жовтий, на кінці бурий; ноги темно-бурі. Молодий птах зверху сірувато-бурий, зі світлими рисками; низ білуватий, на волі і боках тулуба темні плями. Від решти дроздів відрізняється поєднанням сірого і каштанового кольорів у забарвленні верху. На території України гніздиться в лісовій і лісостеповій смугах, також подекуди в степовій смузі; мігрує і зимує по всій території. A bird of medium size. Body weight 80-140 g, body length about 25 cm. Sexual dimorphism is not pronounced. In an adult bird, the head from above, cheeks, neck from behind and from the sides, the back and upper tail are gray, there are black lines on the head; whitish "eyebrow" above the eye; the back, shoulders and upper coverts of secondary flight feathers are chestnut; the throat, neck and chest are reddish from above, with dark brown variegation; the sides of the body and tail are whitish, with dark brown arrow-shaped spots; lower chest and belly white; cover feathers on the underside of the wings are white; flight feathers are dark brown; tail black-brown; beak yellow, at the end brown; legs dark brown. The young bird is grayish-brown on top, with light lines; the bottom is whitish, there are dark spots on the body and on the sides. It differs from other blackbirds by a combination of gray and chestnut colors in the color of the top. On the territory of Ukraine, it nests in forest and forest-steppe strips, also in some places in the steppe strip; migrates and winters throughout the territory.
