Radula complanata

Habitat

Radula complanata commonly grows on rocks, cliff edges, and epiphytically on trees.

Gametophyte

Leaf Structure:

Lateral leaves are inserted incubously. There are no underleaves.

Within leaf cells, there is usually one large complex oil body per cell.

Sporophyte

The sporophytic generation emerges from a flattened perianth.

The short seta elevates the sporangium above the perianth.

A mature sporangium dehisces via four lines to disperse spores. Elators aid in this dispersal.
