Hemispherical hummock-forming, composed of dense moss-like leaves 2- 3mm long and a lustrous bright green. Flowers minute, white, sitting tight on the hummock, late summer to autumn. Kashmir to south-eastern Tibet on stony slopes and amongst rocks up to 5500m.
